Eley, who has a recurring part on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” is currently putting her voice to a character for the pilot of a children's animated science fiction series dubbed “Crewman 428,” working on sketch comedy projects and developing her own TV comedy.
She’s also carving out a couple of days in her crazy schedule to return home. Along with a cadre of other Hollywood actors and TV stars — including guest of honor Wes Brown, a former “True Blood” castmember who now portrays Julian Bowers on NBC’s “Deception” — Eley will take part in the 2013 Steele Red Carpet Party on April 19 at Houston’s Star Motor Cars, to benefit the nonprofit Spay-Neuter Assistance Program.
I caught up with Eley the other day to find out what growing up in the Lone Star State did to develop her craft — and if Texas actors have a secret sign they flash when they cross paths. Several of the actors involved in the benefit have close ties to Houston.
